Arrival Guide

You can choose to move in either on Saturday, August 13 or Sunday August 14. Provost Academy events begin on Sunday, August 14 at 1:00 p.m. 

Move-in Times: 

  • Saturday, August 13, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. EST
  • Sunday, August 14, 8:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. EST 

Move-in Details

You will receive an email from Panther Central with more specific details on Provost Academy move-in. This email will include details on unloading locations, cart stations, as well as parking information.

  • Wristbands: At the unloading locations and cart stations, all friends and family assisting you will receive wristbands as a security measure. All members of the group must be present at the unloading location, including the student, to receive a wristband in order to gain access to the residence halls.
  • Staff Assistance: Staff volunteers will be available to assist you! Please look for them at the specific unloading locations when you arrive.

Meals

  • $30 in Panther Funds will be loaded to the student's Panther Card (Student ID) for meals during move-in on Saturday, August 13 or Sunday, August 14. 
  • On Sunday, August 14, students and families will be provided hors d'oeuvres during the Welcome Reception, and students will be provided dinner at Camp Guyasuta. 
  • Meal swipes will be provided on the student’s Panther Card (University ID) to be used at The Eatery Dining Hall for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners Monday, August 15 through Friday, August 19 of Provost Academy. On Saturday, August 20, students will be provided a catered brunch at the Academic Presentations Brunch.
  • If you have a meal plan, you can begin using it on Saturday, August 20.

Move-in Checklist

Use this checklist to guide you as you prepare for move-in! All Pitt first-year students will find out their residence hall and roommate(s) assignments in mid-July. Provost Academy early arrival/move-in details will also be sent out by Panther Central in early August.

Panther Card

Don't forget to bring your Panther Card (Student ID) which will be mailed to you prior to your arrival to campus. Your Panther Card gives you access to your residence hall, meal plan, and so much more! Students must submit their photo online prior to be mailed their Panther Card.
